Job description

We are seeking an entry‑level or experienced power distribution designer to join a team of skilled and happy engineers to enable the green transition. Do you want to contribute meaningful expert work in a team of industry leaders and become part of a workplace that takes staff wellbeing and involvement seriously? We now have an opening for a power distribution designer on critical infrastructure projects. You will influence societally significant projects where our expertise helps build renewable energy and ensure the development of a reliable electrical grid for the long term. In this role you will grow into a power distribution designer with the support of an experienced, large team. In your team you will also have 13 other designers around you, so you will not work alone; there are always people to ask, brainstorm and learn from. The job tasks are diverse and the job description will be shaped by your competence and interests. You do not need to be ready to be a power distribution designer; the most important thing is genuine interest in the field, willingness to learn and an enthusiastic approach to learning technical design tasks. You may be at the beginning of your career, recently graduated or have some work experience and be on the path to becoming an expert. We value motivation for the power distribution field, a desire to do quality work and the right attitude: curiosity, responsibility, collaboration and the courage to ask and learn new things. You will work closely with your own team and participate in collaboration with clients, authorities and landowners as needed.

What we expect from you:

• genuine interest in power distribution, electrical networks and energy sector projects
• willingness to learn, initiative and readiness to grow with the support of an experienced team
• careful and responsible work approach and ability to grasp technical wholes
• good communication skills and smooth collaboration with stakeholders
• fluent Finnish and sufficient English skills

Desirable:

• background in electrical network design such as route design, authority cooperation or landowner cooperation
• experience with GIS applications in design work
• experience with CAD or other design software
• understanding of electrical network construction, construction site environment or network contracting
• previous experience in power distribution design is a plus but not mandatory
