Åbo Akademi University in Turku, Finland invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Information Technology to advance research on energy-efficient, sustainable AI systems, including large language models, and their operation in eco-friendly data centers.

The position combines research with teaching and supervision of undergraduates and doctoral researchers, with two lecture courses per year, and integration into the Energy-Efficient LLMs for Regional Applications project.

Formación

• Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related field.

DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION

You will mainly do research on energy-efficient, sustainable AI systems, such as large language models, and how they run in sustainable data centers. The work is part of the Energy-Efficient LLMs for Regional Applications project.

Up to a third of your time goes to teaching and supervising undergraduates, including two lecture courses a year. You will also help in supervising doctoral researchers and work as part of a research team.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EVALUATION

Basic eligibility criteria:

• Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related field. As a rule, the time elapsed since completing the doctoral degree should not exceed four years in accordance with the Regulations for Personnel of the university, excluding maternity leaves, parental leaves, military service, etc. (a copy of the diploma of a doctoral degree should be submitted in the application);
• Strong communication skills in English. Knowledge of Swedish is regarded as an asset.

Meriting qualifications:

• Outstanding potential and established excellence in research on the research focus areas described above and in relation to the current career stage;
• Strong collaborative and organizational skills;
• Previous experience of supervision of undergraduate students;
• International research experience, including research visits abroad.
