Job summary

VTT is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Bioprocess engineering team for a fixed-term 2.5-year contract in Finland. You will develop data-driven approaches for bioprocess control, create Digital Twins, and advance state-of-the-art PAT integration.

You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, publish results, and contribute to grant proposals. A doctoral degree in a related field and strong English skills are required.

Qualifications

• PhD in relevant field completed within the last 5 years.
• Excellent English written and spoken communication.
• Strong interest in data-driven biotechnology and AI/ML
• Experience in bioprocess modelling or process optimisation.
• Experience with data acquisition systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create a Digital Twin to mimic bioprocesses using AI and data.
• Adapt PAT for monitoring production bioprocesses.
• Integrate real-time data with models to enable model-guided bioproduction.
• Develop and deploy data-driven approaches and AI for decision support.
• Collaborate in interdisciplinary teams and contribute to publications.
