Job summary

The University of Helsinki invites applications for a fixed-term Postdoctoral Researcher in Synthesis and Analysis. The successful applicant will join the developing research group at the Department of Chemistry in Helsinki, starting as soon as possible.

The project focuses on closed-loop dissolution/activation strategies for recycling platinum group metals and rare-earth elements using green chemicals, energy- and resource-efficient approaches, including organometallurgy and mechanochemistry,

Qualifications

• PhD in chemistry or related field required.
• Experience in metal recycling or related areas is advantageous.
• Excellent written and oral English skills in a multidisciplinary setting.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop recycling protocols for metals.
• Characterize reaction mixtures and isolated materials.
• Supervise undergraduate, graduate, and visiting students.
• Present findings at scientific meetings and prepare manuscripts for publication.
