Job summary

Tampere University invites applications for a Doctoral Researcher in the Aerosol and Cloud Particle Optics group. The ERC-funded CRYSTAL project explores nano-printed ice-surface roughness and its impact on atmospheric scattering and cirrus-cloud models.

You will plan optical characterization, analyze BRDF data, and develop robust data-processing pipelines while collaborating with international researchers.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree completed by start date in a relevant field.
• Hands-on experience with optical or precision laboratory measurements.
• Strong programming and data-analysis skills; good English; teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Plan and participate in optical characterization of nano-printed surfaces.
• Analyze polarization-resolved BRDF measurements.
• Develop data-processing and quality-control routines.
• Collaborate with postdoctoral researcher to test surface-scattering models.
• Contribute to publications and presentations at international conferences.
