Job summary

Tampere University invites applications for a Doctoral Researcher in the Many-Body Theory group to study quantum nuclear effects in solids. The project will develop an in-house program package and run computations on realistic solids using CSC supercomputers.

The position is funded for three years, starting in fall 2026, with a six-month trial period. Applicants should hold a master in physics or related field; strong Python and English skills are essential; experience with Quantum ESPRESSO is

Qualifications

• Masters degree in physics, mathematics, computer science or chemistry, ideally in computational condensed matter physics.
• Excellent written and spoken English skills are essential.
• Good knowledge of Python is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Bachelor’s students and participate in teaching tasks.
• Develop an in-house program package and perform computations on realistic solids using CSC resources.
