University of Helsinki invites applications for a Doctoral researcher position in FAroGels MSCA Doctoral Network. The Doctoral Candidate will study food-grade aerogels/cryogels as functional porous materials for food applications, focusing on texture, moisture responsiveness and mouthfeel.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in food technology, materials science, chemistry, biomaterials, or polymer science.
• Strong laboratory and analytical skills with experience in experimental characterisation of soft/porous materials.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required and a multidisciplinary mindset is valued.

Responsabilités

• Conduct research on material science and food technology.
• Plan, perform, document and analyse experimental work using laboratory and analytical methods.
• Participate in FAroGels network meetings, workshops and trainings; undertake secondments as planned.
• Work with academic and non‑academic partners across the FAroGels network.
• Prepare scientific reports, project deliverables and publications.
