The role is based in the ophthalmology unit, focusing specifically on the outpatient clinic.
The duties include examining and treating adult and pediatric patients referred to the clinic, as well as managing official working hours emergency eye care.
The specialist must be capable of diagnosing and treating both common and rare specialized eye diseases.
The role involves elective and emergency minor procedures, such as laser treatments and Ozurdex implants, and consulting other healthcare staff.
Surgical procedures such as cataract or eyelid surgeries are not part of the job description.
The work is independent but integrated into a multidisciplinary team including nurses and an optometrist.
The hospital uses the LifeCare patient information system.
Working hours are 8:00 to 15:30, including a 30-minute lunch break.
