We are looking for an On-Call Trainee for Indirect Procurement to join our team in Vaasa, Finland.

Indirect Procurement is a global strategic support function in Wärtsilä serving all employees, functions and businesses in their indirect purchasing needs. Indirect Procurement in Finland is responsible for negotiating and managing contracts as well as developing and maintaining supplier relationships.

As a Trainee, you will support the Indirect Procurement team with a variety of tasks related to sourcing activities, contract management, supplier management, and reporting. Working time is agreed upon based on the need (max 25h/week) and agreed upon on a monthly basis.

What We Are Looking For

You are currently pursuing a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Economics, Business Administration, or a related field, and you have:

• Excellent written and spoken Finnish and English
• An outgoing and proactive personality
• Strong problem-solving skills and a structured, analytical way of working
• A genuine interest in procurement and supply chain management

Experience, studies, or a strong interest in one or more of the following areas will be considered an advantage

• Supply Chain Management
• Strategic Sourcing and Purchasing
• Accounting
• Finance

In addition, knowledge of operational purchasing, accounting processes, and data analysis is highly valued.
