Job summary

Whitewater Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the installation, integration, and commissioning of mechanical systems across modular buildings and critical infrastructure projects in Finland. The role emphasizes coordination with project managers, subcontractors, clients, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver mechanical systems on schedule and to spec.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical pipework systems, testing, and commissioning.
• Experience with modular building projects.
• Knowledge of ITP management, quality control, and inspection processes.
• Strong subcontractor coordination and programming skills.
• Good stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to build productive relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Strong conflict resolution and client expectation management skills.
• Fluent in Finnish and English.
• Electrical Safety 6001 certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the installation of mechanical pipe connections and associated services.
• Oversee the installation of leak detection, vent, cathodic protection, and secondary containment systems, where applicable.
• Support mechanical fit-out activities within modular buildings.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of HVAC systems.
• Supervise the installation of plumbing and drainage systems.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of mechanical plant and equipment.
• Coordinate mechanical interfaces and connections between modular units and site services.
• Support testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams to ensure mechanical works meet project specifications, quality standards, and programme requirements.
