Job summary

The work is carried out in the Advanced Marine Structures group, with supervision from leading researchers. Strong background in structural mechanics and scripting is desirable.

Qualifications

• Master’s student in one of the listed disciplines with a solid grounding in structural mechanics.
• Familiarity with LCA, finite element methods, and basic scripting (Python or MATLAB).
• Motivated to translate engineering science into sustainable design choices.

Responsibilities

• Develop a multi-objective optimization method balancing performance, cost and life cycle assessment (LCA).
• Formulate and implement analytical and/or numerical models with objectives and constraints.
• Evaluate candidate designs using case studies and Pareto analyses; provide recommendations.
