Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Design Engineer for its Machine Vision R&D team in Jyväskylä to participate in projects, manage embedded equipment lifecycles, and contribute to software development. You will work on hardware-software integration, documentation, and lifecycle management in a global technology leader, with a focus on innovative automation and embedded systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Automation, Electronics or Software Engineering.
• Strong proficiency in C#.
• Experience with Entity Framework Core.
• Solid SQL database design, optimization and query development.

Responsibilities

• Participate in R&D projects and collaborate with the R&D team.
• Select server and system components and manage software updates.
• Contribute to software maintenance and development with modern technologies.
• Prepare technical documentation, calculations, and specifications for prototypes.
• Analyze test results with the R&D team and track technological advances.
• Follow developments and contribute to patenting and competitor monitoring.
