Job description

Accenture is expanding its Defense Technology practice with a visionary Lead Solution Architect to drive the next generation of mission-focused synthetic environments and AI-enabled platforms. In this role, you will play a critical part in shaping and delivering complex architecture for NATO defense organizations and leading global defense industry clients.

You will define the technical architecture for simulation, training, multi-domain operations (MDO), and AI-driven decision-support solutions. Our work is anchored in Accenture’s Common Synthetic Environment (CSE) — a strategic global asset developed collaboratively across our international engineering teams.

This is a unique opportunity to operate at the intersection of cutting‑edge technology, national security, and large‑scale digital transformation.

Lead Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with client teams to understand requirements and define end‑to‑end simulation and AI architectures
  • Design scalable, cloud‑native synthetic environment platforms supporting training, operational planning, analytics, and wargaming usecases
  • Shape architectural vision and platform strategies during sales and early engagement phases
  • Guide and mentor development teams to ensure architectural integrity, compliance, and alignment with program objectives
  • Lead architecture governance processes, including design reviews, decision records, standards, and best practices
  • Oversee a team of architects across application, infrastructure, simulation, and data domains
  • Contribute to the evolution of the CSE global asset, ensuring architectural consistency and technical excellence across markets
  • Work with an ecosystem of industry‑leading technologies and partners, including: NVIDIA, Palantir, Unity, Palantir, Varjo, Red Hat, Dell, OpenAI, OneArc, Plexsys, Battlespace Simulations, Hadean, Valkyrie Enterprises, and more.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in senior architecture roles within complex, mission‑critical environments
  • Experience designing event‑based, distributed, and federated system architectures
  • Understanding of AI technologies and modern data platforms (e.g., Palantir, Databricks)
  • Proficiency with architecture frameworks and modelling standards (Archimate, NAF, UML…)
  • Background in DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, and secure‑by‑design engineering
  • Solid programming fundamentals and ability to engage hands‑on if needed
  • Cloud expertise (OpenShift, Azure, or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of system hardening, secure environments, and defense‑sector requirements
Why Join Accenture?
  • Collaborate with a global network of industry‑leading experts in simulation, AI, and defense technologies
  • Opportunity to work on mission‑critical programs that directly support NATO nations and the broader defense ecosystem
  • Access to the latest technology innovations, global R&D initiatives, and multi‑domain operational programs
  • A culture of continuous learning, career development, and cross‑border collaboration
  • The ability to make real impact — work that truly matters

Please note: An approved security clearance is a requirement for the work we do for defense clients. Obtaining the required clearance is only possible with eligibility for a NATO passport, and candidates must not hold dual citizenship with non‑NATO countries. This position may also involve business travel.
