Job summary

Wärtsilä Corporation is seeking a flexible Proposal Manager / Engineer to join the Africa & Europe Proposal Management team. You will help translate customer requirements into competitive proposals and work with a broad international network of experts.

The role offers hybrid work and the possibility to develop from engineering to leadership across markets. This position may be filled as Proposal Engineer, Senior Proposal Engineer, or Proposal Manager depending on experience.

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent professional experience in technical, commercial, or engineering fields.
Experience in proposal engineering, proposal management, project management, sales support, or related roles.
Strong understanding of technical and commercial matters with interest in business-oriented solutions.
Excellent coordination, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to structure work, manage priorities, and perform under demanding proposal deadlines.
Collaborative and proactive in an international, multicultural environment.
Fluent in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

Analyse customer requirements, tender documents, and project-specific needs.
Develop technical and commercial proposals with Sales and other stakeholders.
Coordinate inputs from Engineering, Product Management, Project Management, Finance, Legal, Supply Management, and others.
Establish proposal plans and ensure deliverables and deadlines are met.
Identify, evaluate, and communicate proposal risks and opportunities.
Ensure the quality, consistency, and completeness of proposal documentation.
Participate in customer meetings, clarifications, and negotiations.
