Job summary

Oak Valley Health in Ontario is seeking a qualified Millwright for maintenance of hospital plant and facility equipment, with emphasis on mechanical systems and rotating equipment. You will monitor BAS, respond to alarms, and perform preventive maintenance with oversight from the maintenance team.

Required are a Millwright certificate (433A) with Red Seal preferred and at least 3 years of maintenance in commercial, industrial, or institutional settings.

Qualifications

• Active Ontario Millwright Certificate of Qualification (433A) with Red Seal endorsement preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of commercial, industrial or institutional maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience with rotating equipment, pumps, motors and mechanical systems.
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems, boilers, pumps and building mechanical equipment.
• Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Building Automation Systems (BAS) is an asset.
• Welding and fabrication experience is an asset.
• Hospital or healthcare environment experience is an asset.
• Strong understanding of preventative maintenance practices and safe work procedures.
• Computer proficiency with CMMS.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent communication, organizational and customer service skills.
• Demonstrated good attendance and performance record.
• Commitment to maintaining a healthy and safe workplace.

Responsibilities

• Monitor building operations via BAS and ensure systems operate safely and efficiently.
• Respond to alarms and equipment failures with corrective actions.
• Perform preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance with minimal supervision.
• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain mechanical systems (pumps, motors, conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, compressors).
• Perform alignment, assembly, installation and replacement of mechanical equipment.
• Inspect and test HVAC systems, generators, mechanical equipment and related infrastructure.
• Read blueprints, drawings, schematics and control diagrams.
• Record maintenance activities and corrective actions in CMMS.
• Support HVAC systems, air handling units, exhaust, hot water/steam, emergency generators, sump and sewage systems, fire protection and life safety systems.
• Escort contractors and ensure safety procedures compliance.
• Respond to occupant concerns and service requests promptly.
