Job summary

People Hive is supporting a client in Espoo, Finland, seeking a Hardware R&D Engineer specialized in cryogenic and quantum components. You will perform cryogenic electrical measurements below 1 K and contribute to silicon-based quantum technology by designing, modeling, and optimizing electro-thermal and quantum devices. Collaborate with multidisciplinary R&D and fabrication teams to improve device performance.

Full-time, on-site in Espoo. Salary 60,000–75,000 EUR gross per year.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Nanotechnology, Semiconductor Devices, Quantum Technology or related field.
• Hands-on experience with electronic transport measurements.
• Experience with cryogenic experimental setups, particularly below 1 K.
• Strong knowledge of solid-state physics and device physics.
• Ability to plan experiments and analyse complex measurement data.
• Experience collaborating with R&D and fabrication teams.
• Experience with device modelling, semiconductor fabrication, or electro-thermal devices (nice to have).

People Hive is supporting a client in the search for a passionate Hardware R&D Engineer specializing in cryogenic and quantum components to join an innovative research and development environment.

This is an opportunity to contribute directly to the advancement of silicon-based quantum technology. The successful candidate will conduct advanced cryogenic electrical measurements at temperatures below 1 K, and will design, model and optimize electro‑thermal and quantum devices. They will work closely with multidisciplinary R&D and fabrication teams to improve overall device performance.

Critical Requirements

• PhD or equivalent experience in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Nanotechnology, Semiconductor Devices, Quantum Technology or a related field
• Hands‑on experience with electronic transport measurements
• Experience with cryogenic experimental setups, particularly below 1 K
• Strong knowledge of solid‑state physics and device physics
