Job Description

In this position, your role is essential in upholding compliance with tax regulations and optimizing tax processes for employees on international assignments. This role focuses on managing the tax consequences of global mobility and enabling a smooth transition for employees across different countries. Your main objective is to reduce tax-related risks and costs while ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws for both the organization and its employees.

  • Accurately prepare, review, and file tax returns and related deliverables for globally mobile employees within designated deadlines.
  • Provide specialized advice and strategic recommendations to internal teams regarding withholding responsibilities, social security contributions and other employer obligations.
  • Offer specialized tax advice on assignment structures, leveraging tax treaties, and identifying tax-efficient benefits.
  • Analyze employee compensation and payroll data to accurately calculate tax liabilities and identify potential benefits.
  • Prepare supporting applications and documentation to optimize employees’ tax positions, including data analysis and communication with assignees.
  • Stay informed on the latest developments in international tax laws and regulations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and regularly communicate with clients to update them on progress, address concerns and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Be responsible for the financial management of the engagement (including billings, collection, metrics, and KPIs tracking).
  • Recognize and actively seek out fresh business prospects within the existing client base by understanding their changing requirements.
  • Work to expand the client portfolio and nurture existing client relationships to drive revenue growth.
  • Analyze market trends and the competitive landscape to identify potential growth areas and opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Completed studies in law or economics and business administration (e.g., OTM, KTM) in Finland, or equivalent studies abroad.
  • 5+ years of work experience in relevant authorities (e.g., Finnish tax authorities) or global mobility consulting firms with a strong focus on global mobility tax. Experience with incentive plans is an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Finnish and English.
  • Experience from leading teams and engagements is valued.
