Job summary

Oak Valley Health is seeking a skilled RN for an emergency department role to work with the interprofessional team in caring for lower acuity patients. You will apply clinical knowledge, patient teaching, and effective communication in a dynamic setting to support patient-centered care and satisfaction.

The position requires current nursing registration, BLS, and ED experience, with potential for Coronary Care 1 training within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses.
• Current BLS certification.
• Recent Emergency Department RPN experience is required.
• Completion of Coronary Care 1 program or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Previous experience in fracture/plastic clinic is an asset.
• Td immunizations is an asset.
• Medication Certificate.
• RPNAO membership is preferred.
• Excellent physical assessment skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Commitment to patient/family centred care environment.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in an interprofessional team.
• Well developed organization, communication, interpersonal and teaching skills.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development and leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to lower acuity emergency patients in collaboration with the Physician.
• Use strong clinical, patient teaching and communication skills in a fast-paced setting.
• Maintain patient/family centred care and focus on customer satisfaction.
• Assist with minor procedures; participate in dressing changes and suture removal; immunizations are an asset.
