Job summary

Winthrop Technologies is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to join our team on a major Data Centre project. Reporting to the EHS Lead, this role will play a key part in ensuring that all works are delivered in compliance with Winthrop’s Safety Management System and in accordance with statutory legislation and best practice standards.

You will oversee construction stage health and safety plans, monitor performance, and coordinate EHS induction and training for site personnel, while maintaining

Qualifications

  • Degree in Environmental, Health & Safety or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing EHS on large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of current Irish and EU Health & Safety legislation.
  • Proven ability to manage all EHS aspects of a complex construction site.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee project compliance with the Winthrop Safety Management System.
  • Develop and maintain Construction Stage Health & Safety Plans.
  • Prepare and analyse H&S performance reports and metrics for management review.
  • Keep senior management informed of ongoing H&S initiatives, performance, and progress.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Environmental, Health & Safety statutory provisions and legislation.
  • Implement and maintain Winthrop Technologies PSCS Environmental, Health & Safety Plans.
  • Oversee and support the development of method statements, risk assessments, Safe Plans of Action (SPA), and permit-to-work systems.
  • Monitor compliance with the Project Execution Plan and associated safety standards.
  • Promote and maintain a positive safety culture across the project and wider business.
  • Manage C.O.S.H.H. assessments and ensure control measures are implemented effectively.
  • Ensure that safety observations, interventions, and corrective actions are recorded and closed out.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits, documenting findings and ensuring corrective actions are completed.
  • Maintain accurate records of statutory inspections and documentation.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project EHS risks.
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with Winthrop’s and the project’s EHS policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and manage EHS induction and training programmes for all site personnel.
  • Ensure appropriate PPE resources are available and maintained.
  • Lead or assist in incident and accident investigations, ensuring timely reporting and communication to the project management team.

Winthrop specialises in providing turnkey data centre solutions, providing services from design, through to construction across the full range of civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical services as well as commissioning.

We are currently constructing multiple turnkey data centre projects in 7 different European countries, equating to over 430 MW of IT load in flight.

We are now pleased to announce that we are currently seeking an experienced EHS Manager to join our team on a major Data Centre project. Reporting to the EHS Lead, this role will play a key part in ensuring that all works are delivered in compliance with Winthrop’s Safety Management System and in accordance with statutory legislation and best practice standards.
