Job description

Overview

LTI is a privately-owned daycare in Helsinki. We take care of children from 9 months up to 5 years of age. We have a maximum of 15 children in LTI-Tapaninvainio. You will be working with another educarer. As we are a small daycare, cleaning of the daycare is a shared responsibility amongst all staff members. We are inspired by Magda Gerber's Educaring approach and hope that you are familiar with this approach and open to practicing this specific childcare approach. You must be fluent and confident in speaking, as well as writing, in English. A little knowledge of the Finnish language is required.

You must have the proper qualifications and experience for this position. We will only contact those who meet our requirements. Working with children requires an extract from criminal records according to Criminal Records Act (770/1993) 6 § 2 mom. The Finnish equivalent requirement is also noted in Finnish below.

Responsibilities

• Writing VASUs and HYVE-4s, updating action plans and other necessary daycare plans
• Conducting parent–teacher meetings and biweekly team meetings
• Preparing suitable activities for children
• Maintenance and quality-control of your designated daycare branch, including cleanliness and up-to-date resources

Qualifications and requirements

• Fluent and confident in English (speaking and writing); some knowledge of Finnish is required
• Proper qualifications and experience for this position
• Criminal records extract required for work with children (Criminal Records Act)
• 40h/week
• Magda Gerber Educaring approach familiarity is preferred
