Job summary

Kemioconsulting is seeking a Senior Computational Medicinal Chemist / Digital Drug Hunter to join its drug discovery team in the Nordics. You will be integral to molecular design decisions, collaborating with medicinal chemists and project scientists to shape active small molecule programmes.

The role emphasizes hands-on modelling, SAR interpretation, and using computation to influence programme direction, with relocation support for those moving to the Nordics.

Qualifications

• PhD in computational chemistry, medicinal chemistry, cheminformatics, structural biology or a related area.
• Several years’ experience working in computational drug discovery.
• Strong understanding of medicinal chemistry and multi-parameter optimisation.
• Experience with structure-based and ligand-based design.

Responsibilities

• Drive molecular design and multi-parameter optimisation strategies.
• Work with medicinal chemists on SAR, compound prioritisation and design hypotheses.
• Apply structure-based and ligand-based drug design approaches.
• Run virtual screening and hypothesis-led computational studies.
• Explore binding modes, conformations and structural hypotheses.
• Use docking, modelling and data-driven approaches to guide chemistry.
• Explain computational results clearly to medicinal chemists and teams.
