Job description
Overview

Contract Manager

Due to continued expansion, we have a great opportunity for the right person to join our business in Finland and support across the wider Nordics region as a Contract Manager. In this role you will work within our Global Customer Projects and Service Organization as part of a collegial Contract Management Team, deeply embedded in the business whilst reporting to the regional Director of Contract Management. The focus of this role would suit someone with experience in a contractual environment from contract management, legal, commercial management, or quantity surveying backgrounds.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and agree the commercial contractual strategy for projects and proactively execute this strategy to meet margin targets.
  • Create, maintain, and monitor contractual obligation registers to ensure that contractual obligations are met by us, our customers, and the supply chain.
  • Compile, submit, and agree relevant information to facilitate prompt resolution of contractual entitlements.
  • Support the project management team and facilitate knowledge transfer of commercial contract set-up from pre-sales to execution phase to maximize project success; mentor and coach the project team to deploy contract and commercial skills in day-to-day execution.
  • Participate in negotiation of customer terms and conditions to manage commercial risk and comply with Schneider Electric policies; liaise with Legal, Tendering, and Sales to ensure a compliant work-winning proposal.
  • Contribute to risk assessment and proactively manage contractual risk and opportunities.
  • Provide contractual and commercial advice to different functions within the business.
  • Support improvement processes on escalated projects (e.g., margin slippage, cash issues).
  • Prepare and proactively manage contractual correspondence, variations, and claims.
  • Ensure that all guarantees and bonds are in place and managed.
About You
  • You are qualified to degree level in a relevant discipline (Business, Supply Chain Management, Law, or Construction Economics) and are passionate about business and commercial contractual matters.
  • You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in managing the contractual delivery of contracts in execution and in pre-sales, including negotiating, drafting, and executing agreements, with knowledge of legal terms and commercial concepts.
  • Your experience could be in Construction, Energy, or Power projects, but this is not essential. Ideally you have experience in a project-based environment.
  • You are well organized with strong problem-solving and clear communication skills. You enjoy working in a collegiate, multi-functional team and have experience dealing with project teams.
  • Fluency in Finnish and English (written and verbal) is a must.
