HIFK is seeking junior coaches for the 2027 season across 5v5, 8v8 and 11v11 age groups. The role emphasizes commitment, long-term thinking, strong organizational and time-management skills, plus multilingual communication (Finnish, Swedish, English).

For 11v11, prior coaching experience and training are required. Evening and weekend work fits around Väinämöisen field summer sessions, winter indoor practices, and coaching manager support.

Qualifications

• For 5v5 and 8v8, coaching experience is welcome; emphasis on multilingual communication (Finnish, Swedish, English).
• Strong motivation to inspire children and youth to football; ability to assess varying starting fitness and skill levels.

Responsibilities

• Coach 5v5, 8v8 and 11v11 age-group teams for the 2027 season.
• Commit to evening and weekend sessions; participate in seasonal planning with the coaching manager.
• Help develop players’ skills and organizational development within the club.
• Engage with players and guardians to support long-term player progression.
• Fall-prep and winter training locations include local fields and gymnasiums.

Job description

HIFK seeks junior coaches for the 2027 season. We are looking for coaches for 5v5, 8v8 and 11v11 age-group teams for the 2027 season. Our coaches' key success factors are commitment, long-term thinking, good organizational and time-management skills, and a strong value base. For 11v11 roles we require relevant prior coaching experience and training. For 5v5 and 8v8, coaching experience is welcome but above all the ability to communicate smoothly in multiple languages (Finnish, Swedish and English). Successful candidates will also have genuine motivation to inspire children and youth to football, and the ability to recognise players’ different starting levels in terms of fitness and football skills. The work mostly takes place in the evenings and on weekends. In the summer our activities are centered at Väinämöisen field. In winter our teams practice football and futsal at local fields and gymnasiums. We offer support and opportunities to develop under the club’s coaching manager. The coaching position pays compensation and starts no later than 1 November 2026.
