Job summary

Jones Engineering requires a Campus Commercial Manager with a mechanical background to join the delivery teams for a large Data Centre project in Finland. You will lead Quantity Surveying activities, monitor contract compliance and support procurement efforts on site.

Qualifications

• Third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying/ Construction Economics.
• Data Centre experience preferable.
• Mechanical or MEP role experience required.
• Ability to work both individually and in a multi-functional team.
• Excellent presentation, verbal, written and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to Construction Team on Quantity Surveying functions and contract obligations.
• Identify commercial risks and report to management.
• Prepare monthly progress applications with remeasurements, variations and day-works.
• Support procurement activities and contract administration with Procurement Dept.
• Manage subcontractor accounts from award to interim valuation and final accounts.
• Forecast turnover and cash flow for projects and ensure reliable reporting.
• Monitor contractual requirements and liaise with Employers, Design Team and subcontractors.
• Mentor and lead the wider Commercial Team on site.
• Perform other duties as required.

Responsibilities

To provide support to Construction Team on all Quantity Surveying functions including, but not limited to the following:

• Ensure compliance with contract obligations and provide advice and monitoring of same to construction team
• Ability to identify potential commercial risks and ensure prompt reporting of same to management
• Compile monthly progress applications and ensure they are inclusive of accurate remeasure, site variations, day-works or claims
• Procurement - operational procurement activity and contract support, in conjunction with the Procurement Department
• Manage subcontractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations and final account
• Managing and forecasting of turnover and cash flow of the projects
• Reviewing and commercial management of all projects, to ensure accurate and reliable reporting
• Identify, Analyse and report on trends within the Business & Projects
• Review all incoming correspondence from Employers, Design Team and /or subcontractors, to identify contractually critical items and to initiate replies
• To ensure Construction Team is adhering to all Contractual Requirements and providing advice and monitoring of same
• Manage and mentor the wider Commercial Team on site.
• All other duties associated with this role

Key Skills/ Requirements

• Relevant third level qualification essential in Quantity Surveying/ Construction Economics
• Previous Data Centre experience preferable but not essential
• Experience in a Mechanical or MEP role required
• Ability to work both individually and as part of a multi-functional team
• Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills
