Brillante Academy invites dedicated individuals to join as Teacher Assistant in a growing two-way, dual language school serving the Rio Grande Valley region. You will support lead teachers with joyful, personalized instruction and contribute to a culture focused on character, courage, wisdom, and self-control.

You will work in a setting that fosters bilingual English and Spanish literacy, safety, and student growth, with opportunities to advance toward lead teaching roles as the program expands

Qualifications

• Belief in Brillante Academy mission, model and virtues.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Associates Degree or minimum of 48 college hours.
• Experience working in a special education setting strongly preferred.
• Experience working with pre-K and/or lower elementary students preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver small group instruction to provide individualized support.
• Preparing and delivering whole group lessons as assigned, and with support from lead teacher.
• Assisting in customizing lesson plans and activities to meet the needs of individual students.
• Supporting lead special education teacher with behavior management techniques and strategies.
• Tracking data as instructed by lead teacher.
• Helping teachers with administrative duties that support instruction and student learning.
• Providing personal care services for students as needed.
• Physically assisting students with academic, behavior, mobility, self-help skills.
• Demonstrating unwavering belief in the limitless potential of ALL students through actions.
• Participating in team meetings, check-ins with manager, and school-wide events.
• Monitoring students during transitions throughout the school day.
