Job summary

Wärtsilä is seeking an Automation Engineer to develop controls for multifuel engines. The role is mostly based in Turku, Finland, with Vaasa as a negotiable option and a hybrid work model available.

You will join a control functionality development team to deliver end-to-end control implementations. Requirements include an MSc in automation or related field, experience with Matlab/Simulink and C, and strong English communication.

• End-to-end implementation of new controls within a control functionality development team.
• Gather requirements, model the controls, develop test cases, implement controls and document the new control.
• Collaborate with developers from other engine controls teams.
• Interact with other teams in the area of engine controls.

Job description

We are looking for an Automation engineer with a main responsibility in developing controls for our multifuel engines. The preferred location for this position is Turku, Finland but also Vaasa, Finland is negotiable. We offer a possibility to hybrid remote work.

Your role and responsibilities

As Application Engineer you will be working in one of our control’s functionality development teams. Together with the team you are responsible for end-to-end implementation of new controls.

A typical controls implementation task includes requirement gathering, modelling of the controls, development of test cases, implementation of controls and finally writing the documentation for the new control implemented. The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests.

You’ll be working as a member in one of our development teams.

You will also interact with developers from other teams in area of engine controls.

• Understanding of multi-fuel engine control
