Asian Buffet Chef (Chinese Cuisine) – Employer: Itsudemo Seppälä; Location: Jyväskylä, Finland; Employment type: Full-time, Permanent; Start date: By agreement; Salary: According to collective agreement (experience-based supplements).

About us

Itsudemo is a popular Asian all-you-can-eat buffet known for fresh dishes and fast service. We're hiring a skilled chef with strong Chinese cuisine background to keep our buffet running smoothly.

Key responsibilities
  • Cook and season Chinese hot dishes for buffet service (wok/stir-fry, roasted meats, noodles, rice, sauces, soups).
  • High-volume batch cooking, timely replenishment of buffet stations, and quality control.
  • Daily prep, mise en place, portioning, and presentation for a consistent guest experience.
  • Plan menu rotations and specials with the head chef; reduce waste and manage food costs.
  • Maintain HACCP, hygiene, temperature logs, and allergen labeling.
  • Keep the kitchen clean, safe, and organized; support and train junior staff.
What we’re looking for
  • Chinese cuisine chef certificate or equivalent professional qualification.
  • 2-3+ years experience in Chinese hot kitchen and large-volume/buffet operations.
  • Strong teamwork and BOH coordination under peak-time pressure.
  • Basic English for work; Mandarin/Cantonese an advantage. Finnish is a plus.
  • Finnish Hygiene Passport (or ability to obtain within 3 months).
  • Knowledge of allergens, food safety, and cost-conscious production.
