Job summary

Nortal in Finland is seeking a hands-on Data Architect to design AI-enabled data platforms and shape how clients turn data into intelligent action. You’ll work with top data and AI professionals across Europe to deliver solutions that create real business value.

The role blends data engineering, software engineering and DevOps, with hands-on work on Microsoft Fabric or Databricks lakehouse platforms. Fluency in Finnish and English, plus collaboration and pre-sales support, are key.

Qualifications

• Experience designing data architecture as part of enterprise data strategy.
• Familiarity with data mesh paradigm and principles.
• Knowledge of data architectures including data lakes, data warehouses, and lakehouses.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric or Databricks lakehouse platforms.
• Experience applying software engineering practices (version control, CI/CD, testing) in data environments.
• Pre-GenAI proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Fluent in Finnish and English.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement AI-enabled data architectures and solutions on modern lakehouse platforms (Microsoft Fabric and Azure Databricks)

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Experience in designing data architecture as part of enterprise architecture and data strategy
• Familiarity with data mesh paradigm and principles
• Knowledge of various data architectures, including data lakes, data warehouses, and lakehouses
• Experience with cloud and on-premise data solutions using Microsoft technologies, including strong hands-on work with Microsoft Fabric (preferred) or Databricks lakehouse platforms
• Hands-on experience and/or strong understanding of working with agentic AI development and software delivery methodologies, e.g. agentic swarm coding and spec-driven development.
• Experience applying software engineering practices (e.g. version control, CI/CD, testing) in data environments
• Experience on hands-on software engineering & general software architecture design is a big plus
• Pre-GenAI proficiency in Python and SQL
• Fluent in both Finnish and English
