MAXAM is seeking an Industrial/Mining Engineer to join our mining team and work across mine sites, covering blasting, loading, and related operations. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and adherence to policies in an international setting.

You will assist in blasting plans, optimise drilling practices, ensure correct equipment use, and support the manufacturing and delivery of bulk products, with a focus on reporting and daily plan execution. Fluency in Spanish and English is required.

Formación

• Mining or Industrial/Mechanical Engineer with at least 5 years of professional experience.
• International experience is valuable.
• Spanish and English languages are required. Other languages are a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Take over various positions at mine sites covering the chain of responsibility.
• Assist blasting plans and ensure correct priming, loading and use of equipment.
• Follow and assist blast procedures and safety policies.
• Support manufacturing and delivery of bulk products with quality control.
• Prepare units for blasts and optimize drilling and blasting practices with customers.
• Report and control blasting activities and ensure daily execution of plans.

Responsibilities

As an industrial Engineer in the mining field, you will take over different positions at the Mine site covering all the functions assigned in the chain of responsibility:

• Bulk Operations from Assistant Level, Technical Services Support, Manufacturing Operations and Commercial Assistance.
• Overall, responsibility to assist all related works of a blast and general operations include:
• Ensuring the correct priming, loading and right use of the hose during the loading of the hole.
• Following and assist blast procedures.
• Maintaining a safe and clean work area and complying with H&S policies.
• Assist on Overall responsibility for the Mobile Units.
• Assist on the Manufacturing and delivering of bulk products, ensuring correct quality control.
• Ensuring the correct operation, maintenance and all safety measures of the Units.
• Preparing the Unit for the blast in accordance with the Technical Manager instructions.
• Working with the customer to optimize drilling and blasting practices.
• Troubleshooting malfunctioning loading system when required.
• Assist on Overall responsibility for the application of blasting plans, company and country policies regarding the use of explosives.
• Ensuring that blasting plans are executed daily.
• Troubleshooting malfunctioning blastholes when required.
• General execution of all blasting plans.
• Reporting and control.

Requirements:

• Mining or Industrial/Mechanical Engineer with at least 5 years of professional experience
• International experience is valuable
• Previous experience in quarry and mining operations will be valued (3 years).
• Spanish and English languages are required. Other languages are a plus.
• Have no geographical limitations and great adaptability. Place of Work: any of MAXAM International Subsidiaries.
