Hydro is seeking a Welding Engineer to support development, qualification and execution of welding activities for railway structural components (MIG, TIG, FSW) with a focus on EN 15085 and ISO 3834 compliance. You will guide production sites and collaborate across functions in a dynamic rail and automotive environment.

Formación

• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
• Certified Welding Engineer qualification (IWE/EWE).
• Hands-on welding experience MIG, TIG, FSW; rail/aluminium environments preferred.
• Knowledge of EN 15085 and ISO 3834 standards and quality requirements.
• Fluent English; German/French is an advantage.

Responsabilidades

• Support feasibility assessments for welding during RFQs and project phases.
• Develop and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and qualifications.
• Define and optimize welding parameters in collaboration with production teams.
• Ensure compliance with key standards (EN 15085, ISO 3834) and customer requirements.
• Provide on-site technical support and troubleshoot welding issues.
• Lead root cause analyses for defects and support continuous improvement.
• Define inspection and testing plans and support audits and certifications.
• Guide production sites on welding technologies, industrialization, and best practices.
