KWS Vegetables in Almería, Spain is seeking a Trial Development Specialist to join our Product Development team. You will plan and execute variety development trials, monitor field trials, and collaborate with Product Development, Breeding and Sales to turn observations into insights that guide our future vegetable varieties.

You bring a degree in Agronomy or similar, plus experience in the vegetable seed industry and field trials.

Formación

  • Degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, Horticulture or a comparable field.
  • Experience in the vegetable seed industry, ideally in product development, variety evaluation or field trials.
  • Strong agronomic knowledge and ability to observe, analyze and interpret variety performance in the field.
  • Strong planning, organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Analytical and curious mindset, with interest in what data means.
  • Proactive, collaborative and hands-on approach across teams.
  • Valid category B driving licence.
  • Fluent Spanish and conversational English (minimum B1), with ability to present results in English.

Responsabilidades

  • Plan, coordinate and conduct variety development trials in the assigned area, in line with the trial plan and in coordination with the Product Development Manager.
  • Monitor field trials from implementation through final evaluation, ensuring accurate and rigorous execution.
  • Collect, analyze and interpret quantitative and qualitative data, identifying key results and conclusions.
  • Prepare reports and present results that contribute to the evaluation and advancement of new varieties.
  • Evaluate variety performance and key agronomic characteristics, applying technical judgement beyond data collection.
  • Work closely with Product Development, Breeding and Sales, sharing relevant insights on varieties, the market, customers and competitors.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of trial protocols and methodologies.

KWS Vegetables is looking for a Trial Development Specialist to join our Product Development team in Almería, Spain.

We are looking for someone witha strong agronomic background, experience in the vegetable seed industry and a hands-on approach to fieldwork, who can plan and execute trials, analyze results, and turn field data and observations into relevant insights to support decisions about our future varieties.

In this new, permanent, full-time position, you will work closely with Product Development, Breeding and Sales, playing a direct role in the evaluation and development of our vegetable portfolio.

Your key responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate and conduct variety development trials in the assigned area, in line with the trial plan and in coordination with the Product Development Manager

What you bring:

  • Strong planning, organizational and time-management skills, with particular attention to detail and accuracy
  • An analytical and curious mindset, with an interest in understanding not only what the data shows, but what it means
  • A proactive, collaborative and hands-on approach, with the motivation to contribute and work closely across different teams
  • Valid category B driving licence
  • Fluent Spanish and conversational English (minimum B1), with the ability to prepare and present results in English

Knowledge and experience withcucumber will be particularly valued, including familiarity with its key agronomic characteristics and selection criteria.
