CHERY Spain R&D Center in Barcelona is seeking a Thermal Management Engineer to develop, validate, and optimize HVAC systems for vehicles intended for Europe. You will work with suppliers, testing organizations, and global teams to ensure performance and customer satisfaction.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, 3+ years in HVAC/thermal management, and strong communication. English is required; Spanish and/or Chinese are highly valued. Occasional travel may be needed.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Thermal Energy, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in HVAC or automotive thermal management development.
• Experience with vehicle testing, validation and issue resolution.
• Knowledge of thermal management systems for new energy vehicles is a plus.
• Understanding of the European automotive environment.

Chery Spain R&D Center is Chery Automobile’s regional R&D Center in Europe and a key part of its global strategy. The center focuses on European adaptation and validation, plant technical support, localized component development, quality issue analysis, connected vehicle operations, and FL vehicle development, while continuously strengthening its capabilities in product definition, validation, technical coordination, and project support. Your Mission

We are looking for a Thermal Management Engineer to support the development, validation, and optimization of HVAC and thermal management systems for vehicles intended for the European market. The successful candidate will work closely with suppliers, testing organizations, headquarters engineering teams, and cross-functional departments to ensure product performance and customer satisfaction.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

• Support localization development and validation activities for HVAC and thermal management systems.
• Collaborate with suppliers to promote localization and approval of HVAC-related components.
• Lead issue investigation and closure during vehicle testing and hot/cold climate calibration activities.
• Support analysis of aftersales quality issues related to thermal management systems.
• Establish and improve localized development and validation processes.
• Conduct competitor benchmarking and market-related technical analysis.
• Collaborate with global and local teams across engineering, quality, product, and operations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Thermal Energy, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in HVAC or automotive thermal management development.
• Experience with vehicle testing, validation, and issue resolution.
• Knowledge of thermal management systems for new energy vehicles is a plus.
• Understanding of the European automotive environment.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• English required; Spanish and/or Chinese are highly valued.
• Availability for occasional business travel.
