Airbus Defence and Space SAU in Getafe, Spain, seeks a Test Specialist (Human Factors) to join the Integration Test & Analysis team. The role covers HF testing across simulators, rigs, and aircraft, with potential work at Seville or other sites and bases as required.

The successful candidate will plan, analyze and report HF test results, support V&V strategies, and interact with certification bodies while collaborating with cross-program teams.

Test Specialist (Human Factors) – Integration Test & Analysis

At Airbus Defence and Space, the domain 'Integration Test & Analysis' in Getafe (Spain) is looking for additional staff in the perimeter of Human Factors Engineering Testing within the Avionics and Mission Systems area supporting cross‑program activities. The successful applicant will become part of the team based in Getafe and may also support testing activities in other sites such as Seville, Manching, or Air Force Bases during short‑ to mid‑period demands.

The COC 'Flight & Integration Test Centre', in the engineering cluster 'Aircraft and Systems' from Airbus Defence and Space, is responsible for planning, preparing and implementing all integration test activities at subsystem, system and aircraft level, as well as for analysing test data, reporting results and providing the necessary evidence. It also develops, produces, qualifies and supplies all the test means necessary to carry out all types of tests—including support for self‑test activities in early development and for hardware and software tests before integration. Current customers include the A330 MRTT, A400M, C295, Eurodrone, SIRTAP, NGF and FCAS.

Main Activities

• Act as Test Specialist for Human Factors across all platforms (excluding Eurofighter), covering simulators, subsystem rigs, aircraft ground and flight test activities.
• Support the Integrated Test Team forum within activity scope.
• Support development, certification, qualification and production activities according to Test Program requirements; ensure and support appropriate V&V strategy and follow‑up test progress.
• Participate in elaboration of Test planning; review, optimise and challenge Test Requests.
• Coordinate with Test Framework and instrumentation domain to define proper means for required data reduction, monitoring and analysis.
• Interface with DO, AW and certification authorities; support test activities on certification meetings; write Certification/Qualification Cards, test plans and Certification/Qualification Test Reports.
• Assist Flight Test Engineer in preparation of flight test or simulator sessions: support writing and preparing flight test orders, follow telemetry and provide safety monitoring when needed, and provide expertise on test data reduction and detailed analysis; organise external flight test campaigns.
• Interface and coordinate with Test Integrators, Design Offices, Chief Engineering Office and Program Offices; provide Human Factors expertise to system architecture and design definition.
• Provide analysis and validation support of aircraft limitations.
• Write and analyze snags, providing rationale for closure or recommending design modifications.
• Optimise test data analysis methodologies and procedures and manage priorities.

Required Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Human Factor aspects within Integration Testing (simulators, rigs, aircraft level) and knowledge of common Human Factors concepts such as workload, situational awareness, usability, HMI, error management, fatigue and ergonomics.
• Familiarity with Human Factors Test Scales and Evaluation Methodologies (Bedford, NASA TLX, ISA, etc.).
• Experience in Human Factors development and certification processes (COHDA, FAHDA, local and global evaluations).
• Knowledge of integration and test route map.
• Strong focus on complying with timescales and milestones.
• Open to proposing new ideas for process and tool improvements.
• Willingness to travel and work in multiple locations.
• Official training in Integration and Test will be valued.
• Technical negotiation level in English and Spanish.
• NATO SECRET clearance will be valued.
