Enza Zaden Centro de Investigación is seeking a Breeding Support Assistant to help prepare seed lots, manage seed stock, and support crossing programs. The role involves collecting phenotypic data and coordinating shipments with traceability tools.

You will work closely with the breeding team in a controlled climate environment and assist with crop care and quality checks as part of ongoing breeding projects.

Formación

• Knowledge of MS Office applications.
• Computer skills.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare seed lots for research/breeding/screening trials and manage required admin.
• Receive and administer seeds of selected plants and crossings, store properly in seed vault.
• Sow, monitor germination after sowing and planting.
• Coordinate and execute crossing programs and related activities.
• Sample leaf material or seeds for marker analyses or disease monitoring in track and trace tools.
• Collect routine phenotypic data on plants, fruits and seeds and administrate this data in digital tools.
• Prepare shipments of seeds with necessary documentation in track and trace tool.
• Co-responsible for a healthy and safe working environment.
• Participate in crop care, seed extraction, cleaning and breeding support activities.

Reporting to Team Lead Breeding Support Purpose Perform routine activities to support breeding and research programs, contributing to the success of plant breeding programs.

Operational Level

Operational Key Accountabilities

1. Prepare seed lots for research/breeding/screening trials, including all required administrative activities.
2. Receipt and administration of the seeds of selected plants and crossing, ensure correct storage in the seed vault.
3. Sowing, monitoring germination after sowing and planting.
4. Coordinate and execute crossing programs and related activities.
5. Sample leaf material or seeds for marker analyses or disease monitoring including adminstration in track and trace tools.
6. Collect routine phenotypic data on plants, fruits and seeds in research, breeding and screening trials. Administrate this data in relevant digital tools.
7. Prepare shipments of seeds including necessary documentation and administration in track and trace tool.
8. Co-responsible for a healthy and safe working environment.
9. Participation in all crop care, seed extraction, cleaning and/or breeding support activities if needed to succesfully execute the plant breeding programs.
