Descripción del empleo

Kirey España is looking for a Technical Consultant with hands‑on Murex MX.3 experience in commodities, covering the trade lifecycle, pricing and risk of physical and financial commodity products.

The consultant will configure and maintain Murex commodity products, market data, valuation and risk set-up, and the processes that take trades from capture through confirmation, settlement and accounting, working with the front office, middle office, risk and operations teams.

The role combines deep technical delivery with clear communication: the consultant must explain product configuration, pricing and risk outputs to traders, risk managers and operations staff in both Spanish and English, and document every configuration decision to a standard that survives audit and handover.

Technical
  • Murex experience: Minimum 3 years of hands‑on Murex MX.3 experience, with at least 2 projects covering commodity or energy trading products.
  • Commodity products: Working knowledge of the commodity product set in Murex, covering at least one of: oil and refined products, power and natural gas, base or precious metals, or environmental and agricultural products.
  • Lifecycle and conventions: Understanding of the commodity trade lifecycle, including trade capture, pricing, confirmation, settlement and accounting, and the market conventions that drive it (delivery, averaging, pricing sources, units and calendars).
  • Market data and valuation: Experience configuring and validating market data (forward curves, volatility surfaces and correlations) for commodity valuation and risk.
  • Integration: Working knowledge of MxML or equivalent message‑based integration, and experience supporting production interfaces and incident handling.
  • Data: Strong SQL skills and familiarity with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server or PostgreSQL), including data investigation and reconciliation queries.
  • Tooling: Experience with Unix/Linux command line and job scheduling or orchestration tools used in financial institutions.
  • Governance: Experience working within controlled change processes (ITSM, change and release management, incident and problem management).
Professional
  • Languages: Professional‑level fluency in both Spanish and English, written and spoken. Able to run meetings, present to senior stakeholders and write formal documentation in both languages.
  • Communication: Clear, structured communication: able to translate between trading, risk and technical language, summarise complex issues concisely and elevate risks early.
  • Sector experience: Demonstrated prior project experience in a tier‑1 or large financial institution, or an energy or commodity trading house, ideally in a commodities or capital markets context.
  • Autonomy: Ability to work independently, manage priorities across parallel workstreams and take ownership of deliverables end to end.
Product and trade configuration
  • Configure commodity product types and trade capture templates in Murex, covering the relevant instruments for the desk (e.g., futures, forwards, swaps, options, Asian and averaging products, and physical or structured trades).
  • Maintain static data for underlyings, pricing sources, calendars, units of measure, delivery terms and counterparties used by commodity trades.
  • Define and maintain lifecycle event handling for commodity trades, including exercise, averaging and fixing events, delivery and settlement processing, and corrections.
Market data, pricing and risk
  • Set up and maintain market data used in commodity valuation, including forward curves, volatility surfaces, correlations and basis or spread inputs.
  • Configure valuation and pricing set-ups for commodity products, and perform validation and reconciliation of prices and P&L against reference sources.
  • Support risk analysis for commodity books (Greeks, exposures, VaR and stress scenarios), and work with market risk to explain results.
Operations and integration
  • Support the middle and back office processes that depend on Murex commodity data, including confirmations, settlements, accounting and exception management.
  • Build, test and support integrations between Murex and upstream or downstream systems (e.g., trading, scheduling, ERP and risk platforms), ensuring data completeness and timeliness.
  • Investigate and resolve production incidents and data discrepancies, with root‑cause analysis and documented corrective actions.
Delivery and governance
  • Participate in requirements gathering, impact analysis, solution design and effort estimation with business analysts, traders, risk and operations stakeholders.
  • Contribute to testing (unit, integration and UAT support), release management and post‑implementation review within the client’s change process.
  • Produce clear configuration specifications, runbooks, validation reports and knowledge transfer material.
  • Mentor junior team members on Murex commodity configuration standards and good practice.
Working model:

Working hours:

Monday to Thursday from 08:00/09:00 to 17:00/18:00, and Fridays and during the summer from 08:00 to 15:00
