Job summary

Airbus Defence and Space SAU in Getafe (Madrid) is seeking a System Safety Engineer to join the Aircraft Development Safety Team. You will collaborate with Design Offices, Chief Engineering, System Suppliers, and Airworthiness Authorities to ensure aircraft safety and certification at the highest standards.

The role requires an Aeronautical or Industrial Engineering degree and advanced English. A hybrid working model is available, with benefits like health insurance and transport services.

Qualifications

• Education: Aeronautical or Industrial Engineering degree, or a related discipline.
• Experience: Professional experience in Systems Engineering with interfaces to Safety, Airworthiness, or Certification.
• Technical knowledge: Good understanding of Aircraft systems and advanced MS Office skills.
• Languages: Advanced level in English.
• Soft skills: Teamwork mindset, problem-solving skills, and high adaptability to work in a networking mode.
• Valuable / Nice to have: Experience with Safety Tools (Isograph FaultTree+) and SSA experience will be valued.

Responsibilities

• Perform SSA activities for military aircraft systems from development phases to final certification.
• Identify and classify failure conditions by conducting systematic examinations of system functions based on severity.
• Establish System Safety requirements and perform preliminary evaluations to ensure architecture meets safety objectives.
• Generate technical evidence to demonstrate compliance with safety standards for Airworthiness Authorities.
• Conduct safety analyses including CCA (Particular Risk, Zonal, and Common Mode) and Continuous Airworthiness Risk Analyses.
• Manage supplier data and safety requirements at the interface of interacting systems, hardware, software, and technical domains.

An opportunity for a System Safety Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid). The selected candidate will join the Aircraft Development Safety Team. The team is multicultural, multidisciplinary, and offers a 360-degree view of the aircraft development process. You will work closely with Design Offices, Chief Engineering, System Suppliers, and Airworthiness Authorities. The jobholder will reinforce our team to ensure that Airbus military products are designed, developed, and certified according to the highest safety and airworthiness standards.

Responsibilities
