Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Spain is seeking a System Integration Engineer to validate and integrate control and communication systems for renewable energy projects.

You will design architectures for PV, BESS and microgrids, connect PCS, PPC, BESS, SCADA and third-party systems, and define Modbus TCP maps and interfaces. You will coordinate with customers and suppliers, plan integration tests and commissioning, and prepare validation reports with project teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Automation, Industrial, Telecommunications Engineering or similar.
• At least 3 years of experience in system integration, industrial automation, plant control or renewable energy.
• Knowledge of control and communication architectures for Solar PV, BESS or microgrid plants.
• Practical experience with Industrial Ethernet, Modbus TCP, PLC and control systems; OPC UA/OPC DA, DNP3, IEC 60870-5-104 and IEC 61850 are valued.
• Ability to interpret system architectures, single-line diagrams, signal lists, Modbus maps, operating sequences and interface specifications.
• Experience with FAT, SAT, commissioning, validation or plant troubleshooting.
• C1 level English required for meetings, documentation and international collaboration.

Job description

As a System Integration Engineer, you will be accountable for the integration and validation of control and communication systems for renewable energy applications. You will coordinate technical interfaces throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring reliable system performance and successful project delivery.

• Design Systems: Design and review control and communication architectures for PV, BESS and microgrids plants.
• Integrate Solutions: Connect PCS, Power Plant Controller (PPC), BESS, SCADA and third-party systems.
• Validate Communications: Define Modbus TCP maps, signal lists, interfaces and communication networks.
• Configure Products: Adapt and configure products according to project-specific requirements.
• Coordinate Interfaces: Work with customers, EPCs, utilities, battery manufacturers and suppliers.
• Test & Commission: Plan and execute integration tests, FAT, SAT and commissioning activities.
• Resolve System Issues: Identify and resolve control, communication, networking and system interaction issues.
• Document Results: Prepare technical specifications, test procedures and validation reports with project teams.

Your background
