Job summary

Mozilla is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer, Tools & Systems, to design, build, deploy, and operate software and systems that support Firefox engineering. This broad role spans internal engineering systems, developer tooling, workflow automation, and the infrastructure required to operate them.

You will collaborate across Cloud Engineering, IT, and other teams, own end-to-end problems, use telemetry and data to guide decisions, and contribute to architecture and technical strategy.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering skills and substantial hands-on experience deploying and operating production systems are core requirements for this role.
• Proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript, with knowledge of C++ or Rust being useful.
• Experience building and deploying production systems in cloud environments, including infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Experience across CI/CD, containers/orchestration, networking, databases, observability, or developer tooling.
• Experience using data, telemetry, and metrics to investigate technical problems and guide decisions.
• Familiarity with modern AI-assisted development tools and their capabilities and limitations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and operate software and systems supporting Firefox engineering.
• Contribute to developer tooling, CI/CD, workflow automation, and AI-assisted development tools.
• Own complex technical problems end-to-end across software, cloud, and operational layers, improving reliability, performance, observability, and cost efficiency.
• Work with Firefox engineering, Cloud Engineering, IT, and other teams to solve problems that span technical and organizational boundaries.
• Use telemetry, metrics, and data analysis to investigate problems and guide engineering decisions.
• Contribute to architecture and technical strategy, identifying recurring problems and solutions that can be applied across teams.
