dLocal LLP is seeking a Staff Engineer in AI R&D based in Barcelona. You will set the technical direction for agentic and LLM-based systems, and lead hard design and production challenges across teams and stakeholders.

You will shape architecture, drive production readiness, and mentor engineers to raise the overall technical bar. The role spans architecture, security-by-design, and governance, with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes and scalable AI capabilities across the business.

Competenze

• 8+ years of software engineering experience at senior or Staff level.
• 2+ years building and operating LLM-based systems in production.
• Experience designing agentic AI systems with tool use and orchestration.
• Strong foundations in distributed systems and cloud infrastructure (AWS).
• Ability to lead multi-team initiatives and define engineering standards.

Mansioni

• Act as technical lead of AI initiatives, from definition to production.
• Define reference architectures and engineering standards for teams to adopt.
• Translate business goals into technical plans, milestones and trade-offs; raise risks early.
• Lead operational practices for reliability, observability, and cost control.
