Grafana Labs is seeking a Staff-level Backend Engineer to design and ship core backend services powering a context layer for AI-driven data intelligence. You’ll build the foundation for a scalable, multi-tenant SaaS, with ingestion, storage, APIs, and agent-facing integrations in a production-grade environment.

This remote-first role offers Spain as a base with a base compensation range of EUR 94,025 - EUR 112,830, plus RSUs.

Formación

• Proven experience building production-grade software systems.
• Experience with AI/GenAI in practical deployments.
• Familiarity with cloud-native environments and observability.

Responsabilidades

• Build the core backend services: design, implement, test, operate the first services for context ingestion, indexing, retrieval, API access, configuration, and admin.
• Create a scalable SaaS foundation: define and build architecture for multi-tenant service, including isolation, usage tracking, quotas, logs, jobs, and boundaries.
• Power agent-facing retrieval workflows: build APIs and service interfaces for AI agents, MCP tools, CLIs, and internal apps to retrieve context, provenance, and signals.
• Work across product and infrastructure: tradeoffs between fast experimentation and reliability as project moves from prototype to production.
• Operate what you build: instrument services with metrics, logs, traces, alerts, and dashboards; use observability tools to improve reliability.
• Contribute to technical direction: shape architecture, service boundaries, storage, API contracts, deployment patterns, and engineering practices.
• Effective communication: work in a dynamic, collaborative environment and contribute across teams.
• Ownership and impact: take full ownership of AI solutions, ensuring they are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with user workflows.
