Databricks is seeking a Sr. Solutions Engineer for the Madrid region. You will engage with core Databricks customers, especially Digital Native accounts, as a trusted advisor on architecture, design, and implementation of the Data Intelligence Platform.

The role combines engineering depth with business value delivery and requires strong collaboration with Account Executives. Hybrid schedule based in Madrid, Spanish and English proficiency, and ability to travel up to 30% will be essential as you

• Build strong relationships with Databricks core product customers in Spain, especially within the Digital Native segment.
• Serve as a technical and business advisor on architecture, design, and implementation to drive adoption of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.
• Develop reference architectures, how-tos, and demo apps; lead workshops and meet-ups to grow regional Databricks community.
• Grow into a technical and/or industry specialist and collaborate with account executives and teams.

The location for the role should be in the Madrid region (i.e. within a commutable distance for a hybrid schedule). Look at all the apps you have on your mobile. Many of these are built by customers that are within our Digital Natives and Scaleup patch and are using Databricks to support their business.

The impact you will have:

• Build strong relationships with Databricks' core product customers, primarily within the Digital Native segment, while also supporting a number of Greenfield (new logo) accounts in Spain, providing technical and business value to Databricks customers in collaboration with Account Executives.
• Operate as an expert in big data analytics to excite customers about Databricks. You will develop into a 'champion' and trusted advisor on multiple issues of architecture, design, and implementation to lead to the successful adoption of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.
• Scale best practices in your field and support customers by authoring reference architectures, how-tos, and demo applications, and help build the Databricks community in your region by leading workshops, seminars, and meet-ups.
• Grow your knowledge and expertise to the level of a technical and/or industry specialist.

What we look for:

• Engage customers in technical sales, challenge their questions, guide clear outcomes, and communicate technical and value propositions.
• Develop customer relationships and build internal partnerships with account executives and teams.
• Prior experience with coding in a core programming language (i.e., Python, SQL) and willingness to learn a base level of Spark.
• Proficient with Big Data Analytics technologies, including hands-on expertise with complex proofs-of-concept and public cloud platform(s).
• Experienced in use case discovery, scoping, and delivering complex solution architecture designs to multiple audiences requiring an ability to context switch in levels of technical depth.

Mandatory requirements:

• The location for the role should be in the Madrid region (i.e. within a commutable distance for a hybrid schedule).
• Flexibility to travel (up to 30% as required for customer meetings, events and trainings).
• Business proficiency in both Spanish and English required.
