Overview

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Art Director / Graphic Designer with a strong focus on social media. You will be responsible for crafting visually engaging and impactful content for various clients’ social platforms, ensuring every piece aligns with their brand identity and values.

We’re looking for someone passionate about social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram, with a deep understanding of their trends, formats, and ever-evolving creative possibilities and obsessed with fashion, beauty, cosmetics, and skincare. A strong grasp of storytelling is essential, as you’ll collaborate closely with Social Media Copywriters to create content that deeply connects with audiences.

You would be part of the conceptualization process, thoroughly understanding brand identities and proposing fresh and innovative visual ideas that convey its messages, values, and personality, for New Business pitches and a variety of clients such us SKYN, the #1 non-latex condoms brand in the US, or Galderma, the world’s largest independent dermatology company, to support their global communication across all online and offline channels.

This position requires working from our HQ located in Barcelona four days per week.

Responsibilities
  • Creative Conceptualization & Execution : Conceptualize, develop, and execute design projects from start to finish, focusing primarily on creating visually stunning and effective designs for social media platforms and digital campaigns
  • Lead the visual storytelling for clients, crafting content that resonates with audiences and aligns with brand strategies.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to brand guidelines, align with the established brand voice, tone, and strategic goals, and maintain a high standard of quality and creativity
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Copywriters, Planners, Creative Director, and account teams to develop and execute creative concepts that align with client business goals, brand strategies, and deliver strategic solutions.
  • Lead the design of client presentations, pitch materials, and other related assets
  • Ideate video and photo shoots, contributing original, trendsetting, and innovative references, and attend to set to oversee their art direction and ensure consistency with the overall creative vision
Project Management :
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Coordinate with project managers and other team members to ensure seamless project execution, prioritizing work effectively
  • Ensure all assets are on brief, on brand, and optimized for specific platforms and meet technical specifications
  • Understand and communicate all technical specifications supplied by media agencies to the team, and ensure all necessary elements like reference files and brand assets are in place before commencing work
Client Interaction :
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations, effectively communicating design concepts and rationale
  • Defend the creative ideas and proposals, always emphasizing how they align with client expectations and meet strategic business goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering solutions that exceed their expectations
Innovation and Trends :
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies to ensure designs are innovative and relevant
  • Experiment with new design techniques and technologies to push creative boundaries and elevate the quality of work
Minimum requirements
Requirements
  • Experience : Minimum of 4-5 years in a digital agency or similar environment. Extensive experience in design for social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn, with a strong portfolio showcasing visually compelling and effective social content
  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects), Sketch, Figma, or other design tools, and good knowledge of all major digital channels and social media platforms, including familiarity with their technical specifications. Eager to learn and improve from new techniques and tools, including AI
  • Creative Vision : Strong conceptual and visual design skills with the ability to translate ideas into compelling visual narratives, an outstanding eye for great design and a passion for delivering creative work, the ability to proactively suggest improvements to briefs, and exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics and design quality
  • Storytelling Expertise : Ability to collaborate with Social Media Copywriters to create engaging, narrative-driven content
  • Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and feedback convincingly, and strong verbal communication skills to speak effectively with internal teams and clients
  • Team Player : Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, deliver and present conceptual work and high complexity briefs while working in partnership with Social Media Copywriters and reporting to the Creative Director, and possess strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative agency environment with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Industry Knowledge : Thorough familiarity with current mainstream culture, particularly in the US, including entertainment, influencers, and trends, as well as staying up-to-date with fashion, beauty, cosmetics, and skincare trends
  • Languages
