Proton is seeking a Systems and Reliability Engineer for the VPN Infrastructure team based in Barcelona. You will design, implement, and maintain robust distributed systems that keep our users connected with privacy and security in mind.

You will oversee a global server network, build automation for 99.95%+ uptime, and work with OpenVPN, WireGuard, and observability tools. Proficiency in Linux internals, IaC, Python, and secure infrastructure is essential.

Formación

• Proficiency with Debian/Linux internals, NFtables, networking stack, and kernel tuning.
• Experience with orchestration/automation using IaC tools such as Ansible.
• Python proficiency for automation tools and scripts.
• Hands-on monitoring/observability using VictoriaMetrics and Grafana dashboards.
• Solid understanding of security principles for infrastructure.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee and optimize a global network of thousands of servers.
• Design and implement automation to ensure 99.95%+ uptime.
• Participate in on-call rotation and troubleshoot cross-environment issues.
• Develop advanced monitoring/alerting for real-time visibility.
• Engineer solutions to improve connectivity, stability, performance, and security in adversarial networks.
