EMBL-EBI is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join the IT Operations team. You will ensure reliability, performance and availability of services used by thousands of scientists worldwide, tackling complex infrastructure challenges and driving automation and resilience.

In this hands-on role, you will work across IAM, email systems, data transfer, storage, monitoring, and core infrastructure, while contributing to documentation and SOPs that empower the Service Desk.

Formación

• 5+ years of experience administering Linux production systems.
• Experience with orchestration/automation tools such as Foreman and Puppet.
• Strong troubleshooting using tcpdump, strace and log parsing at scale.
• Experience with directory services such as 389DS/OpenLDAP is beneficial.
• Ability to review and guide code in Python and Bash.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain, improve and standardise authentication/authorization infrastructure (Active Directory, Entra-ID).
• Support and develop mail services (Postfix, Cyrus, Roundcube, Mailman) including migration planning to O365.
• Support data transfer systems (Globus, Aspera, FTP, HTTP).
• Develop and maintain storage (FIRE) and improve monitoring strategies.
• Develop and maintain Puppet modules and RedHat OS templates.
• Produce documentation and SOPs for the Service Desk.
