Job summary

ARQUIMEA, a global technology company, is hiring a Senior Satellite Mission Engineer in Madrid to lead the end-to-end telecommunications mission for MAGEC, our satellite constellation. You will translate customer needs into quantitative requirements and drive system-wide performance analysis across payloads, gateways and ground networks.

The role requires a Master's in a relevant field and at least 10 years of satellite telecoms experience, with strong skills in link budgets, QoS and simulation.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering with a telecommunications specialization.
• At least 10 years of experience in satellite telecommunications mission engineering or end-to-end system design for GEO and/or non-GEO systems.
• Strong expertise in link budgets, coverage and capacity analysis, interference assessment, propagation modelling and end-to-end performance simulation.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain end-to-end telecommunications mission requirements and architecture, ensuring consistency across all mission segments.
• Translate customer needs and service objectives into measurable requirements for coverage, capacity, throughput, latency, availability and QoS.
• Develop and maintain end-to-end link budgets and performance analyses, including coverage, capacity, interference, propagation and service availability.
• Evaluate technical trade-offs involving constellation geometry, payload capabilities, spectrum allocation, gateway deployment and terminal performance.
• Coordinate with System, Payload, Platform and Ground Segment Engineers to ensure consistent requirements allocation and system integration.
• Define telecommunications operational concepts, including connectivity, handovers, traffic routing, resource allocation and service continuity.
• Define acceptance criteria and coordinate end-to-end verification, testing and service validation activities.
• Assess technical risks, changes and anomalies, contributing to mission performance optimisation and corrective actions.
