Manychat is seeking a Senior Python Engineer for Brands in Barcelona. You will own backend systems, design scalable services with FastAPI, and directly influence product decisions. You’ll collaborate with product and partners to ensure the code delivers real metrics and growth.

You’ll work on building a new product from scratch, with room to lead your own scope, while operating production infrastructure that serves millions of users. This role blends architecture, design, and impact at scale.

You've built backend systems at real scale before — you know what breaks under load and how to design around it early. You make the call on a fuzzy problem, defend it, and adjust as you go, with an entrepreneurial streak that thrives on building something from scratch. You want a direct line to the people using what you build and you judge your work the way they do: by whether it actually moves the metric.

We've built Manychat into the #1 chat platform. Now we're moving forward and building a new product, Manychat for Brands, from scratch: architecture, infrastructure, all of it. We shape what gets built and talk to our users directly — code quality matters, but the real impact we make for our customers matters more. As the product grows, you grow with it, with room to lead your own scope.

• Build Manychat for Brands from the ground up — the product brands use to run campaigns with creators: inviting them, handling consent, connecting their automations and data. Small codebase, early days.
• Ship to real design partners in your first weeks. You're in the partner channels, you see it break, you fix it — no layers between you and the user.
• Own problems that aren't solved yet: observability from zero, migrating off fragile infra, cutting PHP dependencies, auth and permissions, scaling data pulls that are already slow.
• Decide how things get built. The team's small, so you set the patterns the next engineers inherit.
• Shape what gets built with PMs and leadership — the product's still taking shape, so your calls move the product itself, and the code.
• Build on Manychat's production infrastructure, serving millions of users — real scale from day one.
• Judge your work by whether it lands for brands and creators — watch the metrics as closely as the code.

You'll need:

• 8+ years building backend systems in Python.
• Deep FastAPI experience (or a similar modern framework) — designing services and data models, not just endpoints.
• Experience designing systems and defending the trade-offs: boundaries, what to build now vs later, where it'll hurt.
• Experience building for real load — knowing what breaks at scale and how to avoid it.
• Comfort operating before a clear spec exists, helping shape the product as it comes together.
• A track record of working directly with product and partners, making your own calls, and tracking whether what you ship moves the metric.
• Experience building something from scratch — or the itch to finally do it.
