Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Spain to lead large-scale data centre construction projects and programmes. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, directing multidisciplinary teams and managing key delivery risks.

You will ensure quality, programme delivery and commercial outcomes while maintaining strong client relationships across Europe. The role requires leadership, advanced risk management and a proactive approach to governance and stakeholder engagement.

Formación

• Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Project Management or related discipline.
• Strong leadership and people management capability.
• Excellent client-facing and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Advanced commercial and risk management experience.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the delivery of complex hyperscale and colocation data centre construction projects.
• Manage multidisciplinary project teams and construction management resources.
• Oversee contractor performance, project governance and construction execution strategies.
• Manage client relationships and act as a primary point of contact for project matters.
• Lead project reporting, risk management, change control and commercial oversight.
• Review and challenge contractor schedules, methodologies and performance metrics.
• Support procurement strategies and contract administration activities.
• Mentor junior project management staff and contribute to team development.
• Resolve complex technical, commercial and stakeholder issues.
• Significant experience managing major construction projects within data centre, mission-critical, industrial, pharmaceutical, semiconductor or other highly technical environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading large project teams through all phases of project delivery.
• Proven track record delivering projects with substantial capital values.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, including NEC, FIDIC or equivalent contract forms.
• Experience working directly with global clients, contractors and consultants.
• Knowledge of commissioning and handover processes within mission-critical facilities.

About the business unit

Mott MacDonald’s Advisory and Programme Delivery(APD) unit delivers both project, programme & commercial management (PPCM) services and advisory solutions across the built environment, defence, energy, water, environmental, transportation, health and care sectors.

We deliver tailored solutions that directly address our clients’ key challenges, combining our world-leading project expertise with unrivalled programme delivery capabilities and advisory services.

APD delivers services to projects ranging in scale and complexity up to £20bn, through the technical disciplines of programme management, project management, project controls, scheduling, cost management, estimating, infrastructure finance, management consulting, digital consulting and education, health and care management.

Overview of the role

As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of large-scale data centre construction projects or programmes, acting as a trusted advisor to clients while providing leadership to project teams and managing key delivery risks.

You will be accountable for project performance across quality, programme, commercial outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction.

What you will contribute to the team:

• Lead the delivery of complex hyperscale and colocation data centre construction projects
• Manage multidisciplinary project teams and construction management resources
