A leading payments technology company in Barcelona is seeking a Senior PHP Backend Developer to develop core business payment backend applications. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of PHP backend development experience, solid understanding of REST technologies, and must communicate effectively in English. • 5 years of experience as a PHP backend developer.

The role:

Due to the growth of our business, we are looking for a Senior PHP Backend Developer to join our team. You’ll be responsible for the development of our core business payment backend applications in collaboration with your agile team partners. You will evolve in a motivating highly technical environment with challenging services interactions and payment protocol implementation.

• Work with product managers to design, develop, test and implement the solutions using an iterative and agile development methodology
• Work closely with the design team to build reusable code and modules
• Identify gaps in the backend core services layer for achieving desired functionality
• Analyze the business requirements and determine technical feasibility of the implementation
• Design and perform unit and integration testing
• Debug and fix defects found in continuous integration of iterative application builds
• Co‑ordinate with peer developers and release team for code reviews to ensure code standards are followed and set quality is achieved
• Provide engineering support for customer issues and general problem solving

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or similar
• Bootcamp and/or Computer Science related study
• Master’s degree is a plus

Job Experience

• 5 years of experience as a PHP backend developer
• Experience in the payment industry
• Technical: strong knowledge of REST based backend technologies
• In depth knowledge of development tools: git, Gitlab, Redmine, Docker, CI/CD
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge in tech stack Java/Spring Boot is a huge plus
• Language Skills (English) so please send your CV in english
• English is mandatory (good technical level)
