AppCast is seeking a Staff Database Engineer to join the Sevilla team. You will be responsible for the design, administration, and support of high-availability Oracle databases across development, test, and production environments while working closely with engineers and stakeholders.

The role requires hands-on experience with Oracle 12c/18c/19c, RMAN, and Data Guard, plus cloud exposure (AWS/OCI). Expect a challenging on-site position with 24/7 support duties and a focus on performance,

Formación

• Senior Oracle DBA with hands-on experience in Oracle 12c/18c/19c.
• Experience in high-availability environments and complex incident resolution.
• Experience with backup, recovery, and security controls.

Responsabilidades

• Take ownership of complex database activities including performance tuning, migrations, and architecture design.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for incidents involving performance or data integrity.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to support production systems.
• Promote best practices in DB administration, tuning, and automation.
• Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases on Linux/Windows.
• Monitor and tune performance to ensure high availability and low latency.
• Design and maintain backup/recovery strategies using RMAN and Data Guard.
• Document standards and maintain operational procedures.
• Analyze and optimize slow queries with execution plans and AWR/ASH reports.
• Investigate locking, deadlocks, and resource contention to prevent regressions.
