About the role
We are reinventing credit cards entirely. We are working directly with card issuers to change how credit is used throughout the world, creating new types of cards that work for both their everyday lives and large purchases with extremely straightforward, flexible terms. We are looking for a Senior Manager Software Engineering to lead teams centered around integrations with partners, processors, and internationalization. Your mission will be to decrease the time it takes for our teams to integrate with external partners dramatically and allow us to launch cards as soon as we launch Affi in a new country. You’ll partner with other engineering leaders in revolutionizing the way the team works, shaping the culture of engineering across Cards.

You will lead from the front on AI while holding the bar high on quality. You’ll collaborate with other managers across the organization to create a psychologically safe team. You will work closely with stakeholders in the EU and US to build products customers want, and are scalable, reliable, and high-performing. You'll help shape best practices, guide architectural choices, and drive the successful delivery of critical initiatives.

Lead the vision – Define the technical direction, long-term technical roadmap, and strategic initiatives in Cards.

Be a role model - Lead from the front as an example in using AI to build fast, take initiative, and revolutionize how we work.

Work closely with stakeholders across all teams at Affi to champion and implement technical excellence in conjunction with business results

Create and influence a strong ownership culture across teams, with high accountability and investment for building for scale and efficiency

Mentor and lead – Guide a strong group of managers and engineers

• On-Call Rotation - There would be an on-call rotation for this role as a requirement.

What we look for

You have 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years managing engineering teams and 2+ years managing managers.

You have led a multi-team engineering org through a multi-year technical strategy, breaking ambiguous requirements into deliverables that shipped.

You have the technical depth to guide architecture, reliability and quality decisions across a portfolio of systems. You also let tech leads and architects make the calls.

You make investment and prioritization decisions even when people disagree or consensus is incomplete, and you change course when the evidence changes.

You explain strategy, risk and tradeoffs in terms that make sense to engineers, cross-functional partners and executives.

You have grown managers into senior leaders and built teams where diverse perspectives are included and valued on merit.

This position requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Base Pay Grade- R

Equity Grade- Spain 7

Employees new to Affi typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affi focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.

Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents). In addition, the employees may be eligible for equity rewards offered by Affi Holdings, Inc. (parent company).

Location - Remote Spain

We are able to offer visa sponsorship for this role,but do require that someone is based in Spain for the role.
